I DIDN'T PICK UP THE PAINTBRUSH UNTIL LATER IN LIFe

I got my BFA at Atlanta College of Art now (SCAD) in photography, and It wasn't until my mid-forties that I learned how to paint. From that moment on, I was addicted to learning to capture art. To this very day, I continue to take different painting workshops to keep learning new methods and techniques to keep my work fresh and exciting.

  • "We have been fans of Colleen Thompson's artwork for years."

“Our first piece was a pet portrait for a family member's dog who crossed the rainbow bridge. Needless to say, this was the most meaningful way to honor their furry family member. Once we saw how incredible the piece was, we quickly ordered two more. One was a portrait of our dog, Bella, and the other was for another family member's dog. The way Colleen captured the essence of these animals is an art form in and of itself. Since then, we've collected other pieces of Colleen's, which hang in our home. The vibrancy of her color selection and the way she visualizes her subject matter makes you want to see (and purchase) more. When we decided to finish our basement, dubbed "The Par Bar," we knew we wanted a piece of Colleen's art to adorn our golfer's retreat. We had taken a photo of our home golf club's ninth green during sunset, and we just had to have Colleen turn it into a custom piece for us. to say it is a showstopper is an understatement. Colleen is an amazing artist, and we are fortunate to have her beautiful creations as a part of our everyday lives.

HAVING PICKED UP THE PAINT BRUSH, I LEARNED WATERCOLORS IN OLD SCHOOL SQUARE DELRAY, FLORIDA

My instructor Charles Passarelli took me under his wing and was the mentor that made me fall in love with the painting process. It’s never too late to start a new hobby or learn something new.
