It’s Never too late to learn something new!
I didn't start painting until my mid-forties. Now I can’t imagine life without my art.
In 2012, I posted a watercolor painting of my Golden Rhett. Before I knew it, people were contacting me to paint their pets.
NOTHING IS MORE EXCITING THAN LOOKING AT A PIECE OF ART THAT BRINGS BACK MEMORIES OF A JOYOUS MOMENT IN TIME.
That’s the energy my clients feel whether they purchase a custom piece of art or sign up for one of my painting workshops and learn to create their masterpieces.
After graduating from art school with a BFA in photography and design, I worked many jobs as a graphic artist.
I met my husband George and started a family. While raising our three young daughters, I sought a creative outlet besides my photography. In 2007 I took a watercolor class that changed the projection of my creative path. When my mother passed in 2011, I was left with a void I desperately needed to fill. I began painting to fulfill that joy I was in searching for.

I posted a watercolor of my golden “Rhett” on social media, and much to my surprise, people started reaching out. In 2012 I created a website and started marketing my pet portrait paintings, and my hobby turned into a small business. In 2016 I officially left my teaching job to pursue my passion for painting and photography. Although teaching is in my blood, my photography makes me stand out as an impressionistic painter with a touch of realism.
I see the canvas, color, and brushstrokes through my photography lens, which helps me capture memorable moments. Even when my clients provide me with a photo, my knowledge of photoshop is the secret sauce to achieving a better reference photo that matches their vision of the artwork to be cherished for a lifetime.
Blending my tools of photography, design, color theory, and curiosity makes me a better painter and educator.
